Privacy notice.
This notice explains what to expect when you contact Knect IT, make an enquiry or ask us to provide a service.
1. Who is responsible
Knect IT Limited is the controller for personal information collected through this website and during direct enquiries. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 10760118. Our registered office is 257 Titchfield Terrace, Pegswood, Morpeth, NE61 6XD, United Kingdom. Contact us at info@knectit.com or 0330 175 8379.
2. Information we collect
This may include your name, employer or business, email address, telephone number, service interests, correspondence and the technical or commercial details you choose to provide. If you become a client, we may also process service, contract, billing, access, support and supplier-coordination records.
Please do not send passwords, authentication codes or unnecessary sensitive information through an ordinary enquiry.
3. How information reaches us
The website enquiry form sends the details directly to Knect and records them securely for review. Information may also be received when you email, telephone or message us, or otherwise provide it during a business relationship.
4. Purposes and lawful bases
We use information to respond to enquiries and take steps requested before entering a contract; to provide and administer contracted services; to meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations; and for legitimate interests such as operating the business, maintaining appropriate records, securing services, handling disputes and improving support. Where consent is the appropriate basis, it can be withdrawn without affecting earlier lawful processing.
5. Who information may be shared with
Information may be processed by hosting, email, accounting, communications and business-administration suppliers. Relevant details may be shared with a network operator, software vendor, hardware supplier, specialist contractor or professional adviser where necessary to progress an enquiry, deliver an agreed service, secure systems, establish legal rights or comply with law. We do not sell personal information.
6. International processing
Some technology suppliers may process information outside the UK. Where this occurs, Knect expects an appropriate UK transfer mechanism or another lawful safeguard to be in place. Service-specific information can be requested where relevant.
7. Retention
Information is kept only for as long as needed for the purpose collected. The period depends on whether an enquiry becomes a client relationship, contractual and support requirements, security needs, legal limitation periods, accounting obligations and any dispute or regulatory requirement. Information no longer required should be securely deleted or anonymised.
8. Security
Reasonable organisational and technical measures are used according to the information and service involved. No website or email transmission is completely risk free, so sensitive access details should be exchanged using a separately agreed method.
9. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and data portability, and the right to withdraw consent. You may also object to direct marketing at any time. To exercise a right, contact info@knectit.com. We may need to verify your identity.
10. Data protection complaints and updates
To raise a data protection complaint, use the electronic complaint form and select “Data protection”, email info@knectit.com with the subject “Data protection complaint”, or write to the registered office above.
We will acknowledge a data protection complaint within 30 days. Without undue delay, we will take appropriate steps to investigate, keep you informed and tell you the outcome. We may need to ask for information or verify identity before disclosing personal information.
You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We may update this notice when services, suppliers or legal requirements change; the review date above identifies the current version.
